I very much in love with Raoul Fall/Winter collection when I first look at the ad campaign photographed in Brasília by Marcelo Krasilcic, featuring models Aline Zanella, Bruno Gassen, and Camila Mingori, styled by Haidee Findlay-Levin. Raoul Fall/Winter collection is coming your way this early August. As you know Raoul is created by husband and wife team Douglas and Odile Benjamin, Raoul began as a men’s shirt label before branching into women's ready to wear. Raoul has made a momentous impact on the fashion scene with its mandate to create affordable luxury products without compromising stylish design and good quality, and is renowned internationally for its elevated essentials.

The Fall/Winter collection was largely inspired by 60’s and early 70's design, a graphic sensibility, and the purity and clean lines of Modernist architecture. This continued to explore the idea of the uniform – already established in previous seasons – and its utilitarian appeal and graphic silhouettes. With all this in mind, the attention was drawn to flight attendants, the elegant uniforms designed by Emilio Pucci for Braniff Airlines in the 60s and 70’s and the clean and fluid lines of the original 1960’s Pan Am terminal at JFK, designed by Ives, Turano & Gardner Associated Architects and Walter Prokosch of Tippets-Abbett-McCarthy-Stratton, particularly famous for its “flying saucer” roof.

From the 70's we have retained our appreciation for the high-waisted, wide-legged trouser, the slightly A-line skirt just short of the knee, as well as newer longer lengths - mini, midi, maxi. To these the new Fall/Winter collection have added another classic; the tuxedo trouser or skirt and complementary jacket. They all work perfectly with the tailored shirts, scarf and tie blouses that continue to be starting point, and central to the Raoul brand.

For this season the base colors are neutral, monochromatic and bright colors like fluorescent red and ultra violet. Unexpected color combination fill the collections with vibrancy. The interesting part about this collection is that they play with different fabrics like silk, chiffon and leather.

The attitude is not the past or future but the practicalities of present day modern life - a woman who is intelligent, aware and in control; a beautiful modern day Lauren Hutton or Betty Catroux
