Remember last week I said I’ve been living my life like a celeb =). Now this is what I called the life of a celeb. I was really lucky to be chosen as 1 of the blogger to blog about my 2 days 1 night stay in Maxims Genting. At 1st I thought of rejecting the offer because I’ve a horrible experience. It bothers me when my friends asked me to travel up to Genting. But this trip definitely changes my perception.
Our journey starts here! We were so lucky that Transport to Genting will be sorted out by Genting themselves. We had a VIP treatment with a driver that took us up with a nice Alphard. I can't believe the ride was smooth and fast too. It was definitely a good ride!
We reached Genting about 11 something, have some tea at one of Genting Famous Cafe called Bakery.
We checked in-to Maxims hotel at 12pm. There are 5 hotels in the Genting Highlands, but I personally think Maxims is the best of them all. The hotel is located at the highest point of Genting and commands a panoramic view of the hill. The service, right from the check in to check out is superb. The rooms are big and well furnished and the buffet breakfast is the most extensive I have had anywhere in the world. There is easy accessibility to the attractions in Genting like the theme parks, etc. So once you check into the hotel you can just walk around these places of interests. Genting is a family holiday location and Maxims Genting is the star of this location. I recommend this hotel highly.
Me and Ei ling shared the Premier Room. It costs RM550++ to stay in per night...we got a view that overlooking Genting Hotel =). The room size is quite ok. The amenities in the room are pretty standard there’s mini fridge, large LCD TV. The bed is from Simmons and it is quite comfortable. The pillows are very good too. Complementary bottle waters are there with complementary newspaper. There are also complementary fruits. The pear and grapes were very sweet! However, there is no free wi-fi in the room.
The bathroom is quite ok. It is of a very good size. The bathtub is on right hand side and the toilet bowl and bathing cubicle is on the left hand side. It has a nice rain forest shower and two basins for you and your partner. The bathroom amenities are packed nicely in a pouch. The bathing amenities are from Aigner. The towels are of good size.
Wanna look at the other rooms? Follow me I’ll show you the Maxims Suite room.
It costs RM1320++ to stay in per night... the rooms is bigger than the premier rooms we stayed. It’s Huge and spacious with king size beds and also a walk in closet and the last a colossal bathroom that has everything including a T.V and what else can you expect. And for the ladies their own personal dressing table and for the busy business men a small business centre in your room itself.
Next! Signature Suite
This costs RM4125++ to stay in per night. The Signature Suite rooms are definitely spacious with all business requirements. These suites are basically meant for celebrities and high rollers at the casino. It’s slightly the same as the Maxims Suite but double up everything. It have two large rooms with personal walk in closet, 2 colossal bathrooms that has everything including T.V, a mini bar, dining room, 2 personal living rooms and 2 Desktop for you to surf the internet or do your work, which comes with a colour laser printer. Great huh! I think Nuffnang should consider celebrating their next birthday bash here =).

After viewing all the rooms is time for some FOOD! So we decided to have our lunch at Imperial Rama. Imperial Rama is our must go restaurant whenever we go to Genting Highlands. It is a Thai-Chinese fine dining restaurant in elegance ambience. The secret to Imperial Rama’s dazzling cuisine is its perfect balance of two cultures that inspire it; for every Chinese influence in a delicacy, there is a hint of Thai sophistication that doesn’t just complement the recipe, but enhances it as well. Imperial Rama took part in Malaysia International Gourmet Festival and won several awards. It is located at a secluded corner in Level 2 of Highlands Hotel. Many people might not notice it but those who have tried will definitely come back for more.
Wine!!!
The environment is very cozy~
Our trip was splendid! Guess what we had a menu of dishes specially designed and prepared for us by Chef Eric Lee.
Here’s our menu:
Shaggy Mushroom with Truffle oil Salad
I love this dish, It's definitely a good mix between the mushroom and truffle oil.
Lily Bulb with Emperor Sprout Orange Salad
This is my 1st time eating flower, it looks weird but I have to say this dish is delicious. These white lily bulbs have the size of a garlic bulb or small onion. It said they were from the highlands of Lanzhou in Western China, and highly valued for their sweet, crisp and refreshing flavour (plus their nutritional value of course). This unusual and invigorating salad delivers a delightful range of tastes and textures.
Thai Fish Crackers Imported from Thai YUM~
Twins Flavor King Prawns
A chinese meal would not be complete without prawns right? This had got to be one of the very best!! It’s Delicious! The prawns were superbly fresh with a nice crispy crust of salted egg yolk...The cheese and prawns is an unexpected combination that works really well, allowing the subtle flavour to come through. I throughly enjoyed every last bit of this dish!!!
Stewed Chicken Essence Soup
I almost cried when I drank the “soup” because it tastes so rich and wholesome. This is different from the other Stewed Chicken Essence Soup where you have like big chuck of chicken meat in your soup. The Chicken we had is well steamed and is as soft as tou fu.
Australian Abalone Braised in Curry Sauce
This dish is extra ordinary, a must try!
Steamed Marble Goby Fish with Crispy and Garlic
The fish must have been swimming happily before being served to us was fresh and the chef did a good job of not overly cooking and flavouring this superb fish!
Pork Ribs topped with Black Current Sauce
Just think out of the box of traditional taste and mix together two kinds of sauces. Concept of sauce combinations, bringing out and enhancing the taste of pork ribs. This AWESOME dish will definitely leave you with sticky fingers and a smile.
Durian Tempura with Lemongrass Jelly
I’m not much of a Durian person, so this is definitely not my kind of dish. But I enjoy sipping the Lemongrass Jelly thou =).
You guys should really try out this Chinese fine dining restaurant. Click here for more info http://www.rwgenting.com/en/fb/oriental/index.htm
Well there’s too many to share with you guys~ hmmm maybe I shall continue this on Monday, I’m going to talk more about my stay in Genting. Just remember to watch this space! XO
