Blazer Meets Graphic Tees

Happy midweek guys! I know its been awhile since I last blog about 'What I Wore'. My so called photographer been busy lately LOL. But today I would like to share my recent style...so here you go!

I wore this to meet a friend on a lazy day. Would you believe that I got my outfit ready in less than 5 minutes? The power of blazer, and graphic tees are amazing. I have always loved graphic tees. I wore them tons in high school, a lot in college, and then I stopped. I felt like they were to immature, so for awhile I didn't wear them at all. But then I realized it's really all in how you wear them, because now I believe that they can look quite sophisticated! They make you look chic in an instant!

I kept my hair down and went with basic pumps for that edgy feel...then I accessorize my look with a wire wrapped stone necklace and a classic gold watch. All in less than 5 minutes!

I'm so glad that my evil twins Charlotte is up in KL. It's been awhile since we last met. GOSH I miss this girl so much! She's one of the best people I have ever met. I love her to death~

I met her since we were in college and we just totally clicked! I feel like she's the only friend I've had that hasn't left me after one year (drifted apart), and I can tell her anything and everything. She's special to me because we can be honest with each other, we have a lot of fun together, and we don't pressure each other to do anything we don't want to. She's like my best friend and an elder sister because I can pour my heart and soul out to her, and she won't judge me at all and she can do the same with me.

A Trip Back To Malacca

OMG! Can't believe I just woke up...I've never been this hungover. Hate this feeling...I turn too fast and my head starts spinning haven’t had one of these in I don’t know how long~ I am NEVER drinking like that again. HOLY CRAP!

Enough of hungover shit, lets talk about my trip back to Malacca! Anyways, We went back to Malacca last weekend for the long weekend because we wanted to celebrate grandpa birthday earlier. We left on Saturday evening and reached there at night. We had our birthday dinner celebration on Saturday night. My grandpa's birthday is usually a few weeks after the new year. It's really like another family gathering plus all the yummy food!

With the beautiful weather we’ve been having, it’s time for potlucks!

Everyone was there! It wasn't that we were just there to celebrate Grandpa's birthday, we were there to see everyone and catch up with the family.

What is going on here! Everyone is so obsess with their tech. I am a big fan of technology but sometimes we need to turn it off in order to be closer to the family =).

When everyone is busy with their tech, Daddy have to show us this video of him preforming at The 3 Nation Charity Ride. FYI The 3 Nation Charity Ride was founded in 1994 when a group of superbikers from Malaysia, Singapore and Thailand went on a road trip together around Thailand. They noticed that the group generated a lot of interest wherever they went and decided to take advantage of this situation and put it to good use. The interest that the group generate can be used to create awareness or help the under-privileged.

I was supposed to attend this event to blog about it...cause I'm sure you guys will go crazy over these bikes. But too bad I can't make it home.

It's time to blow candles and eat the cake. HAPPY 85th BIRTHDAY GRANDPA!

On Sunday morning, the weather was so windy and not hot. So, me and the god sis decided to hang out. We was having lots of fun! What did we do? WE EAT!

We went to Nadeje for a tea break, Nadeje is famous for Mille crepes and a lot of people come in just to have that. There were people coming in just as a table clears and queues to have Mille crepe to go too.

This is new! It’s incredibly light and fluffy due to the multitude of layers and the creamy aftertaste is simply divine. I could eat this all day long and not get tired of it. It’s rich and creamy without being cloyingly sweet.

Walnut Praline Mille Crepe

Another new flavor! The fact that walnut praline tastes sweet makes it a favorite dessert of many. Can you imagine the taste of crunchy praline walnuts in between creamy mille crepe.

After a great tea break we headed to the cinema.

Later that night my sis helped me to dye my hair =).

On Monday I decided to hang out with my family. Yeap we eat again!

When I'm back I never fail to visit Jeta Groves. Jeta Groves is the lovely place to kickoff your day with breakfast or tea break to refresh your day. You should not miss the Mee Goreng mamak, Mee Rebus, Mee rojak, Mee Siam, Nyonya laksa, nyonya curry, Nasi lemak, Durian Cendol, Air Batu Campur (ABC) and many many more local delicacies.

I had a Mee Siam and I love it very much. Full of aroma and fragrant. The beehoon is of the right texture and the taste is just right.

Soon after that, we had cendol and durian cendol. The smooth ice-shaving concoction came with a generous serving of creamy coconut milk and decadent gula Melaka. The durian was thick and creamy, with a slight bitter aftertaste. This gave an interesting twist to the typical cendol. The creaminess and the pungent aroma linger on, so we were very careful not to burp in the car!

We continue eating!

Most of the tourist would surely go to Jonker Street to experience to the old Malacca, its invaluable heritage, history and also local goods and food. But located just right next to Jonker Street is Medan Selera Tengkera which mostly only serve the locals. Located at Jalan Tun Tan Cheng Lock, this place used to be stalls under a big tree and even know the tree is still maintained but the food court is now much clean and tidy with roof over it’s top.

We ordered Tau Kua~ Tau Kua is sort of a local thing, I had never had this in KL before. Its fried tofu, all cut up and serve with pineapples and cucumber at the bottom and chili paste on top. YUM~

I had so much fun with the family, can't wait to go back for Chinese New Yaer~ XO!

No Pain, No Gain

Despite the hectic schedule lately, fitness continues to be a prime interest mine. Although to be honest, I haven’t been getting to the gym much lately, I've lost my oomph! I probably gained 2kg on my weight =D... but have fortunately been eating properly. In fact, I've been finding that, from a maintenance perspective, a regular simple workout combined with healthy, properly clean eating can work wonders for maintenance.

EXERCISE

Really, the best exercise is to jog. Start out walking 3 miles a day and keep a record of how long it takes you to walk the 3 miles. Try to do it faster and faster everyday and pretty soon you will be able to jog the whole distance no sweat. Besides that, rope jumping is an effective cardiovascular workout and It's also an excellent fat burner. Jumping rope burns approximately 750 calories per hour, which is more than any other popular exercise except running. The faster you jump, the more calories you burn.

FOOD

I always love eating junk food, So I’ve changed my eating habits lately, I’ve been sticking with oats, yogurt, raisin, and fruits~

Meet my new obsession Lana Del Rey... I am so in love with Lana Del Ray recently, both her style and her voice. She have the most exquisite, delicate and mysterious voice. This amazing artist is about to release her debut album in January 30 of 2012. This album is titled "BORN TO DIE"...WOW...I can't wait!

p/s: Well I think this is not a good drawing, it doesn't really look like Lana Del Rey...but I'll definitely try harder next time~

I know I'm late to actually blog about the new year =)...but as you might have guessed I was away having some New Year fun and have spent the last couple of days just relaxing and enjoying some quiet time with my family. Hopefully you all had a great night...and if you are one of those people who actually makes a resolution and sticks to it, kudos to you! 2012 is definitely a fresh start for many of us. I know that I am one of those people. I always love to set a few small, obtainable goals for myself each year. here are my goals for 2012:

1.Get a comfortable place to live in, hopefully I can manage to invest a lovely place with the loved one.

2.Eat out less , stay healthy, and go to the gym

3.Stay on top of the laundry situation

4.get rid of stuff and things that I don't need

5.love and be kind as much as I can

6.learn Thai language. THIS IS A CHALLENGE!

7.get back on my regular blogging schedule

8.learn how to manage my time properly

9.GET A JOB!

there are a few more on my list but those are the ones that are on top of my head at the moment. I hope I will be posting six days a week with my regular posts like "what I wore", food and maybe some cooking and baking recipe, make up and beauty tutorial...I also have a few new fun posts that I plan on throwing into the mix every now and then.

It's january, a new year, a time for goals and resolutions. I want to look back and give a big thanks for all the amazing things I was able to do, and the inspiring people I was able to meet! 2011 was jam packed with awesomeness! Omg I've been busy recently and I'm so sorry for the lack of updates. I got to continue this post...well we definitely had an amazing christmas and hopefully you all did too. my god bro and sis plan a Christmas partywhich was awesome! it was really nice to see my family and friends...We had a blast cooking, playing cards and catching up~ Oh...I had a blast opening presents too! Thanks guys for the pressie ( you know who you are ).

Too bad the weather was so HOT in Malaysia ,we have never had a White Christmas…not once…not a white ANY DAY we had. I have never experience a white Christmas before and really looking forward to that. I always imagined it to be nice, thick, fluffy,white snow covering the landscape so I can play in the snow, build snowballs and create snowman. But over here in Malaysia, malls have to resort to prettying up the decor with plenty of cotton. Sigh~ How I wish it snows in Malaysia. Anyhoo we are enjoying the holiday and spending time with the family and friends, here are a few moments that I managed to capture...

STUPID BUGS & LANDLORD I HATE YOU!!!

The place that I recently moved in has been attacked by termites! The problem is faced in my bedroom and I have been stressing out the last few days over clearing things out. I do not know what species of termites they are (may be those regular ones). Recently I read that a species of termites called Formosan Termites take several years to build up their colony but once it is big, the damage can happen in months! Gosh, that’s scary! To get rid of termites there are methods such as bait and liquid treatment but of course we need to call a professional exterminator.

I've already contacted pest control and they are sure that the place is invaded by termites. Now a couple of problems that have been stressing me out! I have to deal all these problems with a pain in the ass landlord. Well he's not taking action anytime soon. He even asked me to get a new place within this month but refuse to return my deposit. I was in shock when he said that he will only returned my deposit if he found a new tenant, and he also said that he have the right to not return my deposit cause I don't give 2 months notice in advance.

Hello Mr. Landlord listen here!

1st You're the one who's asking me to leave the house. Tell me why I should give 2 months notice in advance?

2nd Wait for a new tenant to move in? Are you kidding me! If you don't solve your termites problem no one is gonna rent your place.

3rd your house is having problem, if ya house is in good condition I'll definitely continue staying.

4th I cant even leave my clothes and furniture in that room, are you gonna be responsible if there is any damages to my stuff.

Feeling Festive

Yeap! It's been a long time since I last posted about 'What I Wore'. I promise I'll try my best to post up more fashion post for you girls =). Lately I've been really busy with other stuff and the bad news is I need to get a new room ASAP! Plus the landlord is driving me CRAZY!!! Hopefully all bad things will go this year~ Well I had an amazing weekend two weekends ago when my friends took me out for shopping, jog, a long season of karaoke, having a great Christmas party with family and friends. Last Minute Christmas Greeting Cards

Hey, everybody first and foremost, i'd like to wish everyone a very Merry Christmas and a healthy and happy, and most importantly - a productive 2012. I know its a lil too late to blog about this but at least I share something during Christmas hehe...Well when it comes to Christmas time, what is more fun than decorating the Christmas tree, giving and receiving cards and getting in the holiday spirit. Each ornament and card has it own story that we can share. At the end of the season you have cards that have sentimental value~

I always felt that a greeting card you make yourself is more meaningful to the recipient and just as attractive as any store-bought greeting card if you apply a few design principles. You can make these simple Christmas cards out of old magazines and other recycled craft materials you can find around the house!

To Make These Easy and Recycled Christmas Cards You Will need:

Brown paper grocery bags or leftover envelope
stick glue
Paint brush (optional)
Magazines, old Christmas cards, Shopping Catalogs
Scissors

1. The first step is to cut out your Christmas card shape. I like to use a brown paper bag. The inside usually has no writing on it and is almost always clean!

2. Cut out your rectangle of paper from the brown paper grocery bag. Try to avoid any writing on the outside of the bag as well.

3. cut out great pictures and blocks of color from the old magazine.

4. Now, go ahead and lay out your Christmas card design before you glue it down.

5. once you have the inside of your Christmas card designed out of your recycled materials, you can glue them in place.

TADAA!!!

It's not too late to make greeting cards, even though the clock is ticking, you can make these greeting cards right up before the clock struck 12. There are so many simple materials laying around the house that you really can build some amazing craft projects out of these recycled materials.

I have no idea why I'm so excited about Christmas this year and I believe most of you have been busy getting ready for Christmas. Decorating the tree, hanging lights, listening to Christmas songs, setting out all of our favorite decor and making a few fun things for the holidays like a new wreath for the front door and a fun advent calendar to count down the days until Christmas...

it's been busy around here this past week cause the place I just moved in been causing a lot of problems... sigh~ leave all the problems aside I'm still very excited about Christmas though =) it's definitely our favorite time of the year.

Today I wanted to share some Christmas decor that have caught my eye. I totally love how Shaun's mom decorate the whole house. His mom was so excited to decorate this year...she hung a new wreaths on the front door, more ribbon, Christmas flowers...

I'm in the mood to draw again! Mood is everything to me. For me, the joy of drawing is that my mood often determines what I draw and how I draw it. Because of that, I often rely on music to help keep me in the right place while I am drawing. Outside distractions can be quelled by putting on headphones and zoning in on the mood the music evokes or enhances.

Mood adds another dimension to art. And, to me, ALL art is REAL ART. If you make it, and you enjoy it, it's art!

It's Grandma's 80th Birthday!

Its my grandmother’s 80th birthday. I know! I know! Most women do not like their age being put out there, but when you’re 80 years old, it’s a big deal! You wear the badge of honor! It’s actually an honor for me to be able to write something over here about her making it to this milestone while still blessed with good health, a sound mind and an incredible spirit that makes everyone around her smile.

So to Grandma, the person most responsible, as well as one of the direct contributors to my sense of humor, without you we wouldn't have a wonderful life today~Happy Birthday MaMak. I hope to be as incredible as you someday!

Ang ku kueh translates directly from Hokkien into "red tortoise cakes". They are glutinous rice cakes with various sweet fillings served on a banana leaf. You will most commonly see mung bean or peanut fillings. Yummilicious!

My aunt make this colorful jelly cake, simply loving~ I would have killed to have a birthday cake like this as a child, it's so pretty and colourful.

Cham Cha session! We held a mini tea ceremony. Well In the Chinese society, offering a cup of tea to the elder generation is a sign of respect...and I’m actually very proud that our family still carries the tradition to perform tea ceremony during birthdays for the elders. It’s an honour to kneel before you grandma and offer my sincere wishes and present to you.

I have this habit of buying style books on a whim. Recently I've purchased a book, Style yourself. A book full of creative outfit ideas and wardrobe tips among some of my favorite bloggers Sea of Shoes, Fashion Squad, FrouFrouu, Keiko Lynn, the Clothes Horse, Gary Pepper Vintage and the Glamourai to only name a few.

The book really is a fun collection of collages, mood-boards, sketches, fabrics and colors evolving around the personal style, insights and inspiration of these girls. It doesn't encourage you to rush out and buy a new wardrobe, but work with what you’ve got already!

these illustrated and photographic guides give ideas of how to get completely different looks from one item of clothing – from something as simple as a grey cardigan to a pair of ballet flats. They also show remixes for accessories and even prints and colours.

Overall I think this guide is wonderful, both informative and fun. I found the book to be a fantastic educational tool for novices entering into the world of fashion. This is definitely a must read!

Picture all the way from Cherating!

This is one of the sacrafices that I'm more than willing to make in order to live by the ocean. I mean, honestly, the first thing I see when I open my door is the beautiful morning sea.

I'm tired of the city life, everyday it's just a struggle!

Sometimes I wonder What's life all about? Hmm~ I guess It's all about work and money If you live in the city. It seems like you're on a zillion schedules, and you have to depend on the terrible jams you have to endure each day commuting to and from work, coworkers, prices...I also think city life is much less healthy, what with all the waves radiating from wireless items like cell phones and Bluetooth, smog, gross water, garbage... ALL of us who work in any of the major towns in the country, must surely dream of the day when we can retire to some quiet village, preferably by the beach or up in the hills, and say goodbye to the stress of urban life.

I have always imagined myself starting life afresh in a quiet village somewhere on the East Coast...enjoying myself thoroughly in a awesome little beach house. Here I would be able to walk and lay on the beach, soaking up the rays, swimming in the sea, surfing, go bird-watching, walk the dog by the sea, start a small chalet business with the loved one and still be connected to the rest of the world because of highspeed broadband.

This is what I wore on Saturday while hanging out with the old friend Stephanie. She need help for Christmas present idea, buying a Christmas gift for your girlfriend is totally fine but guyfriend is tricky, especially if he seems to have everything or is overly practical. So I offer to help her =).

I still can't believe Christmas is just around the corner. As you know the month of December is one of the busiest time for many shopping malls. It is the make it or break it test for retailers to draw in the crowds into their stores. Shopping malls will spend money and effort to put up beautiful Christmas decorations in the atrium and within the mall. Beautiful Christmas decorations can in fact draw in large crowds who are keen to view the decorations and take photos like us~ So Steph and I decide to visit Pavilion.

I was so impressed with the beautiful Christmas decorations put up at Pavilion. It's almost like a candy wonderland~ Obviously there was a large crowd of people taking photos of theChristmas decorations.

Last Saturday Jeff and I went to IKEA! Thanks for the company Jeff =). We literally spend the whole day there and it was so exciting~ I'm not even sure when my love affair with IKEA morphed into an obsession. You may complain about their simple designs but you cannot deny the fact that IKEA simply has the best options when it comes to home furnishing shopping. Where else would you find shelves in such unique shapes and sizes, there is something from Ikea that will fit just right. If you don’t like the appearance of their pieces, you can easily make them over. This is how the idea of “IKEA hacking” was born. Their ad campaigns is always so creative and SUPERB!

Off to Ikea! The traffic jam was crazy~ it took us 1 hour plus to get there...

I recently clean out my closet to make room for new clothes and to get rid old clothes that I know I never wear. Guess what I found? =D I found a few bright colors pieces that I've never worn before. I'm obsessed with the emerging trend of combining neon accessories with dark hues for Fall. This is a great way to brighten up dark days haha!

I took my neon green top and paired it with a darker green high waist skirt...then top it up with a slightly preppy gray boyfriend blazer~Walla!

Another Day Of Shoot

Well Finally It's all OVER!!! 14 hours of shoot can you believe it. I had so much fun working with these guys and I've learnt so much throughout the whole shoot. Mix equal parts digital camera, computer, and imagination, and you’re on your way. Although creating stop motion animation is not difficult, it is time-consuming, repetitive and requires patience. As long as you're forewarned and keen, this makes a fantastic hobby and sometimes even grows into a career. I found taking the pics speedy and fun, but turning the pics into a movie was dull and tedious.

Look how Kojak and Masrin DIY the camera stand haha...YEAP! It is very important to support the camera or place it so that it is sitting steadily and cannot shake as you take the photos. Otherwise, the end result will appear chaotic and lack continuity.

I was a lil frustrated while waiting for my scene, but....

Masrin entertained me with all his funny movement sequence. Oh yeah~ FYI we have to move bit by bit, very small movements each time. It may be the entire body if we need to do a walking movement, flying or it may just be an arm, head or leg. Poor Masrin...he have the most scene. It's almost like he's working out LOL~ I guess he lost a few pounds after the shoot.

Still remember when you’re little. You’re used to seeing your grandmother’s embroidery threads, sitting in a chair with a relaxed. She makes scarves, headgear, skirts, sweaters, and it became her hobby? Well lucky me my grandmother still doing that for me =).

The 1970s were known for bell-bottom and flare jeans but they also were a time when crochet and macrame clothing was super popular as well. After many years of decline, crochet has been gaining popularity again~ macrame and crochet will likely be familiar to you in some sense. For Spring 2011 both make a strong return; but forget the homemade craft feel – as a 2011 fashion trend it’s all about intricacy, quality and a luxury edge.

Crochet dress is a must have. This crochet dress I'm wearing is quite sheer so I pair a sheer nude dress underneath it. I keep it edgy yet feminine with my favorite pearl rosary and a fringe clutch =)...then I finish with my favorite pair of gladiator wadges.

My First Football Match: Malaysia Vs Syria

I went to Stadium Bukit Jalil last Wednesday to watch the match between Malaysia Harimau Malaya VS Syria. I had never seen a real live football match, it was actually my first time going to a stadium to watch a football match. When Shaun called me up and asked whether I want to watch the match...I immediately said YES! I wasn’t going to let this chance go without a fight.

This was an exciting possibility~ It was a really amazing experience and I was totally intrigued by the gigantic size of the stadium, just magnificent!

I'm not sure why I all of a sudden became so obsessed with stripes and the whole nautical thing...

do you hear them? It's been awhile since I have come over here to say hello. Things have been extremely "busy" to say the least. I have to attend a few shoots last week and I have so many things to prepare for LeftBlock Junk Sale. It is tough stuff and has quickly taken over all of my spare time, which makes it pretty difficult to write these days. but here I am now to give you all a quick update.

I woke up this morning and realized the end is near, Ok…not the end of the world. Nor the end of the day. But the end of the year. I can’t believe 2011 has gone. Time flies by and now Christmas is just around the corner.We're actually listening to christmas music over here, always a good thing. Selling All My Treasures

A Roller Coaster Ride

I want to apologize for my absence here on the blog over the last few days. The past week has been interesting to say the least. Full of a lot of emotion from one extreme to the next... happiness, excitement, fear, confusion, sadness, disappointment, anger... It's definitely been a roller coaster ride and well, I haven't gotten anything productive done, including finding the time to come here and say hello. I'm not going to go into detail about the past week as it's not really my story to tell, but I am personally trying to get back into the swing of things and I want to thank you for your patience while I do so.

Oh yeah! I cut my hair~ Now I have fringe! And I'm loving the new hairstyle.

So apologize for the lack of "What I Wore" post, work has been a little nuts, but do not fret I come bearing awesome and very fashionable advice on this sunny Thursday evening!

May I say SEQUINS!well sequins are quite possibly the hottest most versatile trend of this upcoming holiday season! I would dare to say that many of you will be wearing or accessorizing with some sort of sequins during this holiday season, and why not, its festive, fun and flirty!

I bought this sequin lace dress from Topshop last year. I personally think this dress its quite unique. With its open back detail and nipped in waist it’s flattering and would look great teamed with a pair of biker boots to get the grunge look, or some heels for a more glamorous party. But today I would style it another way, LAYERING! I soften up this look by layering a basic sheer shirt. then accessorize my outfit with a vintage watch and a pearl rosary.

Last Friday my friend brought me to this uber cute bakery. Frankly, the moment I stepped into the bakery, I was like WOW SO CUTE! I think I said that like several times. To me It really doesn't look like a bakery shop its more like a girly room! The simple decoration gave me a very cozy and comfortable feeling to just sit and have some coffee and cakes. it's just feels like home~ The decoration in the shop is one of a kind. You would want to capture every single corner of the shop.

What do they serve?

They serve all sorts of cakes like Tiramisu, Cheese Cake, fruit tarts, egg tarts, etc. Do you know about the famous Nadeje mille crepe in Malacca? Well you don't have to drive down to Malacca just to have that anymore. You can actually have it in Dreamz Bakery. I wouldn't say it tastes great but its ok =). Oh they have macaroons too~ yums...

Not to miss out their famous 3-D cakes. You can order any shapes, any characters or designs you want and they shall work it out for you. Interesting huh? =)

Here It is! My New Hair Color!

I met a magician in town today who transformed me to a "little pony"! … Ok that was a lie. My hair is still the same but I would love to try this! I think it's super cool (Don't you think it's cool, No?)

Anyone who grew up playing with "My Little Pony" will know that pastel and bright colors were the it thing, baby. And it seems now, a decade later, we are no longer playing with them, but rather getting fashion inspiration from them! The colored hair trends that have been prevalent on the runways, style blogs, and fashion mags of Spring/Fall 2010.

I want to know what you think...is this crazy or cool to you? Personally, I love it so much. It’s so girly yet punk. I am not the most daring when it comes to hair, I always play safe. Being a natural brown was normal and fun but got to be a bit boring since it had been my style for the past few years. But this almost makes me want to go out and get some pastel colored streaks!

The Adventure of Tintin

I remember watching “The Adventures of Tintin” every weekends morning with my god bro when I was growing up, and I also remember he have a T-shirt of this cartoon too! WOW that was twenty years ago, holy crap, was that a long time. Watching Tintin cartoon guide me to places all over the world, from India to China, from Tibet to Egypt. When I found about the 3D reproduction of one of my childhood's toon my eyes popped out. It was a bit of shock finding out that Steven Speilberg has joined with Peter Jackson to create one unbelievable piece of art. Yes films are art. And this is a masterpiece.

OK, let's release now all the excitement about this movie. I think this movie is mesmerizing from the beginning to the end. The story-line of this movie flows PERFECTLY! Art direction and cameras movements was awesome. Spielberg's goes beyond imagination, he developed a tremendous sense of imagination in connection phases between one scene and the other the director totally expresses his genius, turning the open ocean into a pond, making two shaking hands become dunes in the desert and so on~

It's just amazing to see a comic coming alive. So for those who love TinTin, or for those who love animation coming alive in 3D. I bet you guys don't wanna miss this movie! Go and see 'The Adventures of TinTin'. It would be hard to believe that you will leave the theatres disappointed after seeing this movie.

Din Tai Fung 鼎泰豐 @ Mid Valley The Gardens

Last Wednesday was such a treat. My buddy Jeff took a day off and we spend time together. It's been awhile since I last hang out with this dude. Finally the busy boy is free for some shopping and dinner~ It was a great day for both of us. He managed to get a perfect khakis pants from Levis and I bought a perfect beige heels that I always wanted from Aldo. We close the great evening hang out with a perfect dinner at Din Tai Fung, laugh, talk and we took some pretty pictures. Oh and guess what we're already planning on our next get together in Malacca =) I can't wait!

Well I think you guys are more interested about the restaurant...ok~OK~ Let's talk about food now!

Din Tai Fung is a Taiwanese based chain of restaurants which has now expanded internationally to many parts of the world including here in Malaysia in which it has 2 branches, in Pavilion and Gardens. It was ranked as one of the world’s top 10 restaurants in 1993 by The New York Times. Awesome huh!

Most of the food came out very quickly!

Din Tai Fung is best known for their Xiu Long Bao 小笼包 (Soup Dumplings). For those that don’t know what a Xiu Long Bao is, it’s a very interesting dumpling. It’s not just where you get meat inside the dumpling, it’s also filled with clear soup. It's DELICIOUS! In fact I find it so much better than the 'Xiao Long Pao' in Dragon-i (籠的傳人)!!!

Spicy Vegetable and Pork Wontons (紅油抄手) dipped in spicy sauce. They were delectable! The sauce had a spicy, peppery sweetness that went so well with the dumplings. There was a choice between pork or prawns.

braised beef noodle soup (紅燒牛肉麵); which is a very authentic Taiwanese food. The noodles were well soaked in this bowl of braised beef broth. The beef was excellent, very tender and flavorful.

All in all, it was a pleasant experience, especially because we got there before the peak hour so we did not have to wait. I would definitely go back to this restaurant again, but maybe not too often or else I'll go broke!

The Favorite Trench Coat

I always love jackets and coats but unfortunately due to the weather in Malaysia we can't wear any of it =(...but lucky me, recently I found a perfect trench coat that suits the Malaysia weather. I love this trench coat so much! The material is thin, comfy, and feel like the classic look. So lets talk about trench coat today!

Well I think a trench coat is a timeless and classic piece that brings sophistication to any outfit.Wearing a trench coat makes a definite statement. How you wear one makes an even bigger statement. First, will you button the coat or leave it unbuttoned? A buttoned up coat covers what you are wearing inside and gives you the sleek silhouette look. A buttoned look brings everything together. The open, unbuttoned look is more casual and is also makes you look more masculine when a man does it. Consider where you are going with your coat and the type of statement you want to make before buttoning or unbuttoning the coat. Also, you can hardly ever go wrong with buttoning it up.

I pair this lovely trench coat with a white basic sleeveless shirt. The collar of the shirt can instantly make the whole outfit look edgy, next I layer my favorite polka-dot silk dress for more playful and feminine look. Lastly adding gold accessories will add some glitz to ya look!

So I've been thinking about what to be for Halloween, but before I knew it Halloween is in 2 days @_@~ I need some ideas for last minute costumes. Well I'm not one to go out and buy something that I'm only going to wear once, I'd rather raid my closet and usually put something together. So, what are some good last minute costume ideas that i can whip together by going through my closet?

Yeap! you guessed it, I'm being Minnie Mouse for Halloween! I love this costume and make-up and I think it is super cute and really girlie. But the problem that I'm facing is I can’t find a dress like the one she wears. It is red with white polka dots. To save up some money...this is what I do. I find pieces in my wardrobe that work.

I can't believe it, Halloween is just around the corner! You know, time flies by when you’re busy. Well it’s that time of year again — time to get out your witch’s hats, dust off those broomsticks and don your spookiest, scariest or the cutest costumes for a wacky celebration. Anyhoo, Im so looking forward to party this Friday and Saturday but unfortunately I have a wedding to attend sigh~hmm is ok~ I think I'll still dress up and take a few shot just for the fun of it =D.

Being a Bartender For a Day

People – mainly friends- would always ask me to be their talent or model for shoots. While it is often fun to consider, I have been able to make it happen most of the time without any charges, because I just love to help with an open heart, it lightens my heart, not just to give, but also to trust.

Last week I've done this interesting project with some of my new friends that I've met recently. The product we are shooting is Zippo. I'm pretty sure everyone knows what 's Zippo right? Well I played a sexy bartender who has a strong and powerful personality, a very street-smart kind of girl which I'm not. Don't ask me what's all about because I'm not quite sure what's the message behind this commercial...but It was such a relief to find out that there's no dialogue in the scene =D.

Yeap! I have to do a Flaming Lamborghini and I went a little too trigger happy with my 1st attempt on making a Flaming Lamborghini.

Set light the concoction in the cocktail glass and start to drink through a straw (this drink should be drunk in one)

I had so much fun on set!

One day of shooting just passed by in our laughter, and that made me feel tired and sleepy~ I can't believe I doze off in the car as soon as we wrapped up.

It's been a real pleasure working with Janell and the others~ I hope we have the opportunity to work again in the future. Now i just can't wait for the outcome of the video =D...all the best Janell!

Oh Malacca~

Had a joyful time in Malacca, we went back to Melaka for just a one night stay which usually reached on Sat and left on the following night, it was always a rush trip and we can't enjoy much. Going back to Malacca no longer like the old days. The whole town is super crowded, everywhere is jam even though on a normal weekend, what more on a longer weekend with public holidays.

This trip was really a family eating trip....! We had been eating non stop from breakfast to supper!

The mild weather was perfect to stroll the narrow memory lane of Malacca~

We ended at Jeta Groves for some desserts. Jeta Groves is one of my favorite Nyonya restaurant in Malacca that Highly recommended. The cendol here is smooth served with extra thick santan & red bean & topped with gula melaka... not too sweet, fragrant and yummy~ the BEST in melaka town! You guys should definitely try the food here!

I always come here for the Mee Siam too! =D

Tadaa! Our yummilicious Cendol is here~ I ordered the normal Cendol and the mister ordered Durian Cendol.

Look at the mouth watering rich santan and durian~ They actually uses one whole "ulas" of durian instead of the usual blended type.

After makan, we berjalan-jalan around Dataran Pahlawan~ Yeah this is how I dress up when I'm back in my hometown =).

Next stop Chicken Delight. This is one of my family favorite fast food restaurant~ The clay-pot chicken rice and rojak is the best!

It's Dinner time! Every Sunday we had our dinner at this vegetarian restaurant that located at Bukit Beruang. I didn't manage to shoot any of the dishes. As usual the food cannot be capture due to the hand is faster with an empty stomach...but I have to say that the food here is AWESOME! The price is cheap so be prepared to wait for your table. By the way the shop is fully air-con but during peak hours hmm~ it will be a "wet market" situation.

Guess what happened during our dinner...the lil sis tooth drop off by it-selves =D~ you're all grown up girl!

Once again, It was definitely a wonderful trip back to Malacca~ XOXO!

Cracked Nail Polish

There are few things more relaxing than sinking into a lazy boy chair in a nail salon to get your hands and feet pampered and massaged. Of course this comes with a price (usually upwards of RM30), I always think manicure and pedicure cost a bomb and it's never worth it, which is why I've learned how to give myself a manicure that rivals most salons. Here are my steps for recreating the cracky nail effect~

I have been receiving a lot of inquiries about this nail polish. Well, I totally understand, ladies. Up until now, I am still flabbergasted with this polish. It really cracks!

So now, i'll show you how it cracks up...

I'm using Lelan Vital Crackle Nail Lacquer. This brand is awesome, the plus factor is that it dries really fast!

Always remember to apply base coat 1st

then apply one coat of any nail base color...and allow it to dry completely. Apply another coat if desired.

Once the base colour is completely dry,apply a thin layer of Crackle Nail Lacquer. Crackle Nail Lacquer will only form crack patterns when applied over a nail base colour.

There ya go!

All done! Just make sure that you apply a top coat to keep it from chipping .

VOILA!!! This is definitely1 of the quickest nail arts ever & you don't even have to have a steady hand to do it.

I put my edgy style on hold for this post cause I went for something a tad bit more feminine, kiddy and well, sophisticated! Well I kept this look very simple and minimal in terms of accessories, since the layering and frills were already the highlights of my outfit. I’m not one to pile on too many accessories. I really felt YOUNG again haha~ I think I should stop the kidish style. I'm too old for style like these =D.
